For many years I was employed in the corporate world in sales and sales management, and went on to own a consulting firm in Big Sur, California.  I hold an MBA in International Management from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and am a graduate of the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.  So how did I become an integrated energy medicine practitioner?

In 2004, after a series of profound life changes including ending a marriage of 11 years and leaving my long term home in Big Sur, I moved to Santa Cruz.  It was then I noticed that I had begun to 'see' energies.  Especially in the open and non-judgmental environment at a community gathering called Dance Church, I could often 'see' densities near or on others' bodies.  In a leap of faith, I would occasionally ask those people if I what I saw was in fact there and would they allow me to experiment with interacting with or moving the energy in some way.

To my surprise, many people were open to this.  So, I began to move energy with an intention to heal.  While some people were unable to feel any difference, others reported that they felt relief after my attentions. I had no frame of reference for these interactions.

Imagine my amazement when one day at Dance Church I saw another person doing something very similar.  Fascinated, I asked them what they were doing and the reply was 'energy medicine.'  The person was a trained energy worker.

In 2007 I began the two-year training program at Luminous Body Integrated School of Energy Medicine, not knowing what I was in for, but certain I was supposed to be there.  By the third morning of our first module, I realized, with some degree of shock, that I'd found my calling.  When I returned to Santa Cruz, I withdrew my application for another job I'd been intending to pursue and committed myself to my new life path.

Luminous Body's training includes long days and nights of lecture, practice sessions, and group and individual work.  While learning about energy medicine, I repeatedly discovered and released old wounds--unconscious patterns that no longer served me.  It was through this path of self-discovery that I became able not only to recognize unintegrated energy patterns in others, but also to provide a heartful, compassionate environment for healing.

At first the energies we tracked seemed almost impossibly subtle.  But after months of practice in various techniques, despite my occasional doubts--"Is this, could this, possibly be real?"--my abilities improved and I became able to discern energy blocks of many types as well as begin to be able to move them consistently.

After graduating from Luminous Body training in April, 2009, I opened my office in Santa Cruz and my Sunnyvale office in 2011.  Presently I am completing my fourth year of training at the graduate level at LB, where I also assist in teaching.

And the person I saw practicing energy medicine at Dance Church?  That was Anna-Lisa Adelberg, founder of Luminous Body school, who became my teacher.

We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit.
